My Top 5 Favorite Children's Christmas Classics

Hey everybody! Welcome back :) Today I will be doing, yet another, Christmas themed blog post! Are you surprised? You guys had some really awesome ideas for more holiday themed posts, but my Dad (Blog Dad) suggested this one! Thanks Daddy <3  And I thought it would be really fun! So that's what we will be doing today :)

Every year, before Thanksgiving day, me and my family get our Christmas books out <3 I love reading them during the holiday season and they always bring back such good memories :) The majority of our Christmas books are for children. Hence the title. But they are still entertaining to read even as I've grown up and moved past the 'books are only good because of the pictures' stage 😅 Now, let's get into my ranking!

#5: The Berenstain Bears Save Christmas by Stan and Jan Berenstain

Ah! Berenstain Bears! Such a classic series. I always gravitate towards this book at least once during December. One of the reasons why is because it has a very good message <3 It's full of Christmas cheer and shows the real meaning of Christmas. And why being kind, and hopeful for humanity can really affect you in a positive way. Karma is real people!
Santa is shown with more human like flaws then most book character Santas. Which I think, in some ways, is a good thing! But as a kid, I found that a bit discouraging just because, in my brain, it seemed wrong for Santa to be so low on Christmas cheer himself. But now that I'm older, I can tell it was important for the story, and it gave some extra drama to the story. Because if you think about it, if Santa was optimistic the whole time the story wouldn't have come across as very interesting and then the book would really have no conflict.
Overall I think it's a great holiday book, perfect for your young ones <3 Or! Even teens and adults! I would recommend! And today I will be rating these books by Christmas trees (1 tree being the lowest and 10 trees being the highest) So this one gets a...

#4: Zelda And Ivy: One Christmas by Laura McGee Kvasnosky

Aww! Our little fox siblings! (twins?) I remember the first book I read of this series was the one where they
'run away' from home, for the first time. I was seriously obsessed with them for awhile 😅 Anyway! On to the
review of this book!
One of my favorite parts about this book is that the author does a really good job writing siblings! As someone
who has two siblings, the way that Zelda and Ivy interact with each other is very accurate. Although, I will
say, Zelda is such a mean sister! I'm assuming she was written that way on purpose but still!
I love that this book is a bit longer than most, and that one of the characters (Ivy) is depicted as a true believer
of Santa Clause, where as Zelda isn't, at least not as much. It's a very sweet and simple Christmas story,
it has somewhat good character development, and it keeps you interested! What more could you want in a
children's book?
Overall I think this is a pretty good book! And you certainly won't be disappointed reading this book during
your Christmas break! I'm going to give it a...

#3: Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree by Robert Berry

This is definitely one of my favorites <3 I love the fact that the whole story rhymes and that it's very simple
(not in a bad way, though) it's also super cute and sweet <3 It will for sure get you into the holiday spirit! But
I do think that a lot of younger kids would get board very easily, which is probably why they included animals
in the story. Although it would really depend on the kid! Either way this is a family favorite and it's full of
Christmas cheer! I really love this book, and I truly do not think it could've been written any better :) You
will not want to miss out on this book! I'm going to give it a...

#4: The Christmas Spirit Strikes Rotten Ralph by Jack Gantos and Nicole Rubel

This book has been me and my siblings favorite Christmas story for as long as I can remember <3 And even
though it isn't any longer (for me, anyway) that doesn't mean it's not very near and dear to my heart 🥰
It's always made me laugh <3 But let's just say it's not necessarily the best book to read to your
children when they're being naughty 😅 I mean the main character's name is Rotten Ralph, what do you
expect? Even though he's rotten, this book is still very sweet and super Christmasy <3
One of the things I love most about this book is that even though Sarah and Rotten Ralph are pretty much
apposite in every way possible, they still manage to be the best of friends :) Which I think is very sweet <3
It has a good message while still being a fun and interesting book to read! You (and your kids) will certainly
not get board. But don't come complaining to me when your kid tries to climb up the chimney, or put red chili
flakes on your sugar cookies! I really love this book, and it's a classic, in my family, so it's going to get a...

#5: Christmas Stories From Grandma's Attic by Arleta Richardson

And now we are to my favorite! This is a more recent book in our Christmas collection. I believe we got it in
2018? Or maybe even 2017. So four or five years ago. Which might seem pretty old to some people, but most
of our Christmas books we've had in our possession for a very, very long time.
This book, to me, is the most cozy Christmas book you will EVER read <3 It's magical and it has several short
stories all in one! Each story tells a lesson, which I really enjoy :) And it usually involves Mabel (the author's
Grandma, who is telling these stories to her) getting into trouble. The whole series of Grandma's Attic is
incredible! But this one is special to me in some way that I can't really describe. It always gets me into the
Christmas spirit and never fails to make me happy :) <3 It's the perfect book to read while you're snuggled up
by the fireplace, with a delicious hot chocolate 😋 It's an amazing book, and it's, most likely, meant for older
readers or as a read aloud. especially since it's quite an old book it might be hard for little kids to understand.
It's my most favorite Christmas book of all time! And I would highly suggest you check it out! I'm going to
give it a...

  1. These are fantastic choices I love them all. I would add Madeline Christmas book for kids. The last few years I have read A Christmas Carol each December and I've really enjoyed it and seen new themes or ideas every season.
