I Compared Fashion Nova Halloween Costumes to the Real Thing! YIKES!!!

Hello everyone! So today, as the title says, I'm going to be comparing Fashion Nova costumes to the real thing! So to give you guys some background info! Fashion Nova is this online company that sells clothes, shoes, accessories and...yep you guessed it, Halloween costumes! Now this company is known for their scandalous outfits. So I thought the perfect thing to do is review them simply by how accurate they are! So I'm not going to be reviewing it based on whether I like the costumes, if they're good quality, or if I would ever wear them (which I'm almost positive I wouldn't) That's Mia Maples Job <3 So let's get started, shall we?

 

#1: Clueless (1995): Cher Horowitz

Now first is Cher! So looking at the photos side by side the Fashion Nova costume is surprisingly kinda accurate. Obviously it's more scandalous than the original but I think it's the closest we're going to get on this list 😅 But why did they pick latex for the vest?! And that white 'top' underneath is pointless! But wear what you want to wear I guess 🤷

So I'm going to rate it (based on accuracy) a 6/10 

#2: Child's Play (1988): Chucky

Next up is Chucky! Now the overall outfit is semi-accurate, but if you look at the details of it they don't look very similar. The coloring is very different, both on the shirt and overalls. But I will give them points for the knife and scars they included in their stock photo. 

I'm going to rate it a 4.5/10

#3: Beetlejuice (1988): Beetlejuice

Alright next is Beetlejuice. So my first thoughts are it's not super accurate b-u-t it's not terrible either. The color of the suit is on point. I did notice though that the costume includes a black and green tie, which is a nice touch! Even though Beetlejuice's tie isn't green. It would have been nice if it would have included a white button up underneath, because I feel like that would have tied it all together. What do you think?

I will be rating this costume a 5.2/10. I added a few points because this costume is my favorite. Still don't love it though.

#4: Toy Story (1995): Woody

I think this one might be the least accurate, so far but let's go into more detail, shall we? So yeah, these costumes have some overall similarities, but most things like, the color being off and slight pattern difference. But it's not too bad.

I think I'm going to rate it a 2/10. Too harsh?

#5: The Wizard of Oz (1939): Dorothy Gale

Now this, without a doubt is the most popular Halloween costume ever! I mean I feel like almost every 8-12 year old girl has picked to be Dorthy at least once in their life, right? And Fashion Nova decides to do this... Also this is a teenage girl you're basing this costume off of. That's just gross, but we are rating off of accuracy *eyeroll* But lets face it, this costume isn't very accurate anyway 😅 I do like the little touches of red details in the outfit so that's nice. That poor poor dog in the stock photo looks so upset :(

Let's see...I think I'm going to rate it a 0.5/10

Edit: Okay so I forgot to add this yesterday when I was working on this post, but I had to show you guys the interesting names Fashion Nova titled their costumes 😅 And the creative ways they changed it to not get sued by other companies.

 I MUST show you guys this ad that's at the top of Fashion Nova's page. Now I'm almost positive that the people on the left are supposed to be the characters from Scooby-Doo. But tell me why, everyone else is dressed all 'fancy' but 'Shaggy' (aka guy in green) is dressed just in a t-shirt and jeans 😅 Also were's Fred?
