8 Christmas Movies and TV Show Episodes You Should Watch, This Holiday Season
Ho-Ho-Ho! Everybody! It's the start of Christmas season <3 So what better way to get into the holiday spirit than watch some Christmas movies! So I've compiled a list of movies and TV show episodes I think you should check out :) So without further ado, let's get started!
Movie:
#1: Home Alone (1990)
Length: 1 h 43m
Where to Watch:
Disney+, Prime Video, Vudu, Redbox, Apple TV, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV, and DVD, AND! It's playing in theaters!
This movie will have you laughing your butt off the rest of the day! Home Alone is such a classic, if you haven't seen it already, have you even been living on earth? And if you have seen it before, don't worry! There's nothing wrong with rewatching a family favorite :) Plus! Home Alone is just one of those movies that never gets old, no matter how many times you've seen it. And it's a perfectly made movie, too! I don't think they could've cast anyone better than Macaulay Culkin to play Kevin. Kevin is such a typical (but relatable) ten year old kid. Which sounds easy
enough, but especially nowadays, you don't really see kid characters played quite like that anymore.
It also gives you major cozy Christmas vibes, while still being filled with action scenes and slightly
inappropriate humor.
You definitely won't be disappointed by choosing this holiday movie to watch, while
snuggling by the fire in your cozy pajamas, this Christmas season!
Today I will be rating these movies on their scale of Christmas spirit
(Again! Rated on Christmas Spirit, not how much I love the movie/TV show episode)
So I will be rating Home Alone a 8.5/10
TV Show Episode:
#2: The Librarians (2014-2018)
The Librarians and Santa's Midnight Run: Season 1 Episode 4
Length: 42m
Where to Watch:
Hulu, Redbox, Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV
The Librarians is such an underrated show! Me and my two sisters were so obsessed with it when we were younger ❤ And I still love it to this day 😍 If any of you guys are interested in Fantasy, adventure, paranormal (kinda), mystery, and the occasional Sc-Fi. Than you will love this show! I would highly recommend you to check it out ;) Plus! One of the best parts about this show (especially for new viewers) is that it pulls you into the story right away! So you don't have to worry about waiting for a few episodes before it gets interesting. Sorry, I just had to rant a little bit about how good this show is 😅 Now on to the holiday episode! This is by far, the best Librarians holiday episode (and one of the top episodes, ever!) It's super funny, full of Christmas cheer, and even Santa Clause is in it! The acting is amazing, as always, and it will sure get you into the Christmas spirit, while still satisfying your fantasy hunger. And it has some pretty incredible fight scenes *squeals* Trust me, you will not be disappointed watching this (short!) Christmas episode, this year, with all your friends and family :)
I will be rating this episode a 9/10 on the Christmas Spirit scale
Movie:
#3: The Polar Express (2004)
Length: 1h 40m
Where to Watch:
Hulu, Sling TV, YouTube, Apple TV, Google Play Movies & TV, Redbox, Vudu, Prime Video, TBS, TNT, HBO Max, and DVD, AND! It's also playing in theaters!
Ah! One of my top favorite Christmas movies of all time! Me and my family watch this every single Christmas Eve, for as long as I can remember <3 If you asked me what movie had the most Christmas spirit, and overall cheer, I would have to say this one. I mean come on, the GIF pretty much explains that enough! Another one of it's perks, is that it's literally identical to the book! Which doesn't happen very often. The voice acting is some of the best (in my opinion) for any cartoon movie! All the characters, as well as, the storyline is very well written! One of my favorite parts about this movie is the animation style! It's very similar to A Christmas Carol (2009) How it almost looks live action, but you know it's a cartoon. Ooh! And also the songs are amazing <3 I have so many things I love about this movie, okay! If you're looking for a fun magical, Christmas adventure, in a movie! Than The Polar Express is definitely for you!
Hm...Now how should we rate it on the Christmas Spirit Scale? I know! a 10/freaking 10!
TV Show Episode:
#4: Community (2009-2015)
Regional Holiday Music: Season 3 Episode 10
Length: 22m
Where to Watch:
FuboTV, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Redbox, Vudu, and Prime Video
Yet another seriously underrated show! But oh my gosh 😅 If you want to laugh so hard you pee your pants, multiple times! Than this is the Community episode for you! I mean every episode makes me laugh like crazy, but this one is on a whole other level. And it even has great music in it <3 (for the most part) Which I wasn't expecting since, you know, the whole point of the episode is to make fun of Glee (2009-2015) It's an extremely clever episode and gives major Christmas vibes with some hidden references 🤫 For all you Glee fans out there! Or just people who know the show. I would highly recommend this episode, especially if you're feeling a bit blue (get it? *wink*)
I do really love this episode, but I'm going to have to give it, only a 7.5/10 on the Christmas Spirit scale
#5: Elf (2003)
Length: 1h 37m
Where to Watch:
HBO Max, Hulu, Sling TV, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Redbox, Vudu, Prime Video, and DVD, AND! It's also playing in theaters!
*crickets* I mean do I even have to talk about how good this movie is? Of course I do! If you're looking for a good laugh and lots of holiday cheer. Oh my gosh you will love this movie! <3 Who am I kidding, everyone love Buddy the Elf! Elf is definitely one of my favorite Christmas movies (though, I have many) The characters all have very big personalities, which makes the movie even funnier, and Santa is certainly interesting in this one 😅 Not my favorite Santa, sorry Edward Asner! This movie even has some romance in it, ooh! So it would be a perfect movie to watch with your boyfriend or girlfriend <3 Or just by yourself *shrug* Do whatever you want, girl!
I'm going to give it a 8/10 on the Christmas Spirit Scale
TV Show Episode:
#6: A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
Length: 30m
Where to Watch: Apple TV, and DVD
If you haven't seen this episode, girl where have you been?! It's literally been around half a century! Anyway 😅 Who doesn't love The Peanuts? Their episodes are always so relaxing for me, but also quite funny <3 Especially Snoopy! And yet, they always have a very good meaning behind all that goofiness. This one especially :) And the additional shorter episodes are usually pretty good! If you're looking for a kid friendly, but also enjoyable for the adults and teenagers, than this episode is perfect to keep you entertained! And will surely get you in the Christmas spirit :)I will be rating this episode a 8/10 on the Christmas Spirit scale
Movie:
#7: The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017)
Length: 1h 44m
Where to Watch:
Starz, Hulu, Philo, Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Vudu, Prime Video, Redbox, YouTube, and DVD, AND! It's also available in theaters!
Now this one is more of a recent release, compared to the others. But still an incredible movie non the less! It's one of the best (if not THE best) written Christmas movie ever! And is very relatable to authors around the world. It also gets you in a mix of so many different emotions in not even two hours! The characters (and actors who played them) are amazing! And really embody their parts. It's one of those movies that after watching it, for the first time, you're in almost a shock kind of state. You know what I mean? Where you just can't think of words to describe what just happened 😅 And it definitely took me awhile to really comprehend what I had just witnessed. Similarly to how I felt after watching Enola Holmes 2. Long story short, if you cry very easily, don't forget to buy a box of tissues along with your popcorn and various other snacks.
I 'm going to give this movie a 8.5/10 on the Christmas Spirit scale. But 100000+/10 on the 'how much I love this movie' scale <3
TV Show Episode:
#8: Community (2009-2015)
Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas: Season 2 Episode 11
Length: 21m
Where to Watch:
Hulu, FuboTV, Philo, YouTube TV, Sling TV, Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Redbox, Vudu, Netflix, and Prime Video
This episode is just a funny as their previous holiday episode, but just more heartwarming <3 It will not only get you into the Christmas spirit, but also bring back sweet childhood memories with claymation creatively embedded into a usually live action TV show! It will certainly keep you interested and entertained! And it may even have some really good musical numbers in there as well ;) It's a super fun episode to watch with your best friends and laugh while throwing popcorn at the TV screen <3 And you won't regret this 21 minutes!
And finally *drumroll* I will be rating this episode a 8/10 on the Christmas Spirit scale!
